SUMMARY:Advanced Self Mastery Program – Waikoloa\, Hawaii
DESCRIPTION:During your journey to become a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist/Play Provider you studied nervous system regulation\, authenticity and congruency\, interoception\, emotional age\, and so much more to help you become more  masterful at becoming an external regulator for a child and their caregivers. You also learned how to apply these concepts to yourself for your own growth and development in order to heal yourself and develop your capacity for self-regulation. And now it is time to take the next step towards self mastery! \nThis advanced retreat is not your typical program — it’s a unique personal development experience designed to support you in your ongoing personal journey and deepen your understanding of yourself. Think of it as a deeper unraveling of the question “who am I?” \nYou’ll spend 4 days live in-person with your fellow Certified SPTers delving deeper into yourself. That’s right! These 4 days are just for you – not for your clients\, but for you (… although we do know that any work we do for ourselves inevitably helps our clients). \nGo deeper into the development of yourself – Deeper into understanding the body and your own activation patterns – Deeper into the mind – Deeper into integrating your perceptions and working on emotional charges that are in the way of fully becoming an external regulator. \nCourse Details: During this 4 day live in-person program\, you will engage with your fellow Certified SPTer delving deeper into yourself.  You will be taken on a journey into the mind and the body in order to gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness between the two. We will flow between didactic teachings and experiential learnings so that you can further empower yourself and reclaim the parts of yourself that have been minimized\, hurt\, stuck and stunted by trauma and life’s challenges.  You’ll also walk away with a deeper understanding of what Lisa means when she says\, “Self Mastery requires regulation of the body and regulation of the mind.” \n“A unique experience that enabled us to open our minds to a different way of perceiving our world and our brains.” – Kathryn Orfirer \nWhen: June 26 – June 29\, 2024 \nWhere: Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa\, 69-275 Waikoloa Beach Drive\, Waikoloa\, Hawaii \n\nCost: $998 USD  \n*If you’re a member of the Certified Membership Community\, check your email for your discount code or email the Institute @ info@synergeticplaytherapy.com. \n\nRegistration Deadline: May 21st\, 2024  \nPlease visit the organizations website for additional information. If you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:A Synergetic Approach to Revolutionizing Therapeutic Play with Children (Cape Town\, South Africa)
DESCRIPTION:Lisa Dion will be visiting Cape Town\, South Africa to present a 2-day workshop on A Synergetic Approach to Revolutionizing Therapeutic Play with Children. Please check back after the new year for additional details. \nThis 2 day course is designed to help practitioners understand therapeutic play from a neuro-biological perspective. With the help of neuroscience\, interpersonal neurobiology\, and a Synergetic Play Therapy framework\, practitioners will learn how to effectively work with therapeutic play in a way that supports nervous system regulation\, reorganization of the child’s lower centers of the brain and promotes healing for the child.  Through role play\, discussion\, and experiential exercises participants will learn practical techniques that can be used right away in the playroom. Topics such as boundaries\, co-regulation\, nervous system activation\, emotional flooding and use of aggressive toys and play will be explored. \nThis training will also guide participants towards a deeper understanding of what it means to become a child’s external regulator during trauma play while practicing how to care for their own nervous system thereby decreasing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.  The result is the transformation of trauma play into ways of connecting\, healing\, and mutual trust.   \nThis is a 2-day in-person event is being hosted by Rene Ohlhoff. For additional information\, please visit their website or contact Synergetic Play Theraot Instutute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:Playing Perfectly: A Play Therapist’s Guide for Working with OCD in Play Therapy (LAPT Conference – Day 2)
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa as she Keynotes 2-days at the 2024 Louisiana Play Therapy Association Conference. On day 2\, the topic will be Playing Perfectly: A Play Therapist’s Guide for Working with OCD in Play Therapy. \nDescription: \nFrom perfectionism to anxiety to self-doubt\, the world of a child struggling with OCD can be incredibly overwhelming. Come explore how to support these children in play therapy and discover how their need for perfection is in fact perfect. \nSupporting a child struggling with obsessive compulsions and perfectionism can be incredibly challenging as the desire to move the child out of their rigidity and rituals can overshadow the deeper issues and stressors driving the behaviors.  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a complex disorder as the reasons behind the behaviors vary from managing anxiety to past traumas to focused energy inside of a child driving them towards their genius and that which is most meaningful.  Due to the complexity\, therapists often mis-label\, mis-understand and mis-guide these children in how to work with and understand their rituals and need for perfectionism.  Without an understanding of this disorder and how play therapy is able to support the integration of the underlying drivers of the behaviors\, play therapists can inadvertently intensify the inner struggle that is often experienced by these children as they attempt to stop\, control and even deny the urges in their bodies. \nDrawing from Synergetic Play Therapy and interpersonal neurobiology\, this workshop explores non-directive and directive play based interventions to help support play therapists on a path to understand the perfection in these children’s perfection\, while teaching the child how to do the same.  Play therapists will take a deeper look at the regulatory function of the child’s behaviors that manage the internal conflicts and anxieties these children often carry.  Through discussion and experiential exercises\, play therapists will learn how to separate the underlying drivers from the wisdom of the rituals themselves.  With this knowledge\, play therapists will learn how to use themselves and many forms of play to help these children access an understanding of the greatest perfection that exists\, the child just as they are. \nThis is event is open to the public\, please visit the organizations website for additional information. If you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:Healing Medical Trauma in Play Therapy (LAPT Conference – Day 1)
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa as she Keynotes 2-days at the 2024 Louisiana Play Therapy Association Conference. On day 1\, the topic will be Healing Medical Trauma in Play Therapy. \nDescription: \nMedical trauma is a prevalent experience for many children who have undergone medical procedures or experienced chronic and acute conditions yet is often not included in trauma discussions. Learn how to use play to help children integrate their medical experiences. \nAccording to the National Child Trauma Stress Network\, up to 80% of children who undergo medical procedures experience some form of traumatic stress and 20-30% of parents and 15% of children experience chronic stress from medical procedures.  Without knowing what medical trauma is and how the symptoms manifest\, play therapists can inadvertently miss signs that the child has experienced a medical trauma or jump to conclusions regarding the child’s behaviors and play.  In this 6-hour workshop\, play therapists will explore medical trauma from the perspective of neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology while drawing from Gestalt\, Synergetic and Nature Based Play principles and theories.  Using creative play-based ways to support children and their family’s healing process\, participants will learn how to create emotional and relational safety for trauma integration.  They will learn what it means to become a child’s external regulator to help integrate the activation in a child’s nervous system while safely allowing the child to access the stored trauma in their body from the trauma.  Participants will also explore the symptoms often associated with medical trauma as the symptoms can often be confused with sexual or sensory trauma.  Whether the child has experienced a single incident trauma or is struggling with a chronic illness\, participants will learn what it really takes to integrate their experiences.  As children are not the only ones affected by medical trauma\, care for their caregivers will also be addressed\, as well as an exploration of creative play-based ways to help the entire family system heal. \nAs this is a special populations workshop\, it is important that participants already have a solid foundation in play therapy skills and experience.   This workshop is thus geared towards an intermediate level. \nThis workshop helps participants gain a deeper understanding of the diverse impacts of childhood trauma\, specifically medical trauma and its impact on the play therapy process.  As participants learn about medical trauma\, they will also be better able to create treatment goals\, understand possible interventions and design a treatment process that is more congruent for the child and their family. \nThis is event is open to the public\, please visit the organizations website for additional information. If you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:Irish Play Therapy Community Association: A Synergetic Play Therapy Approach to Revolutionizing Therapeutic Play with Children
DESCRIPTION:Although aggression and death are a common part of the play therapy process\, many therapists don’t have a clear understanding of what to do and how to facilitate the intensity when it enters the playroom during play.  The result can lead to inadvertently promoting aggression and increasing low brain disorganization.  It can also lead to the therapist feeling beat up\, exhausted and hyper-aroused themselves\, which can over time significantly impact their longevity in the field\, as well as their ability to stay attuned and present to a child in the play room.\n\nThis workshop is designed to help play therapists understand aggression and death play from a neuro-biological perspective and a Synergetic Play Therapy lens.  With the help of neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology\, therapists will learn how to effectively work with this type of play in a way that supports nervous system regulation\, repatterning of the child’s autonomic activation patterns and decreases compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.\n\nThis workshop will take therapists to new possibilities as they explore a science based process for working with children at the deepest\, most profound levels while staying safe and sane.  They will learn how to make aggressive play therapeutic while understanding what it takes to maximize growth and integration for their clients and themselves. \nThis is event is open to the public\, please visit the organizations website for additional information. SUMMARY:Catholic Charities of Iowa: Playing Perfectly: A Play Therapist’s Guide for Working with OCD
DESCRIPTION:From perfectionism to anxiety to self doubt\, the world of a child struggling with OCD can be incredibly overwhelming. \nThis event is open to the public\, please visit the organizations website for additional details. If you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:Washington State Association of Play Therapy: A Synergetic Play Therapy Approach to Revolutionizing Therapeutic Play with Children
DESCRIPTION:This presentation is designed to help practitioners understand therapeutic play from a neuro- biological perspective. Topics such as boundaries\, co-regulation\, nervous system activation\, emotional flooding and use of aggressive toys and play will be explored.\nThis training will also guide participants towards a deeper understanding of what it means to become a child’s external regulator during trauma play while practicing how to care for their own nervous system thereby decreasing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. The result is the transformation of trauma play into ways of connecting\, healing\, and mutual trust. \nThis 2-day Keynote being presented by Lisa Dion This is event is open to the public\, and will take place on March 17 and 18\, 2023.  For additional information\, please visit the WAAPT website. \nIf you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:Sexual Assault Services – Victoria: Becoming an External Regulator in Traumatic Play
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa Dion at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre (QVWC) in Melbourne where she will present Becoming an External Regulator in Traumatic Play. \nResearch in neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology sheds light on the need for the play therapist to act as the external regulator supporting the child to move towards the intensity they are experiencing allowing for integration.  This workshop explores this need during trauma integration for two primary reasons: \n1) The child need to borrow the play therapist’s regulatory capacity as they work through their traumatic thoughts\, feelings and sensations in play therapy and \n2) The play therapist’s ability to regulate themselves during the intensity increases the capacity for presence and attunement with the child\, while simultaneously supporting the health and longevity of their own nervous system. \nWithout the ability of the play therapist to become the external regulator for the intensity that arises during trauma integration\, both the child and the play therapist are at risk for emotional flooding and high levels of dysregulation in their nervous systems.  Over time\, this can significantly impact a play therapist’s longevity in the field\, as well as the ability to stay attuned and present to a child in sessions. \nThis is event is open to the public\, please visit the organizations website for additional information. If you would like your organization to receive training in Synergetic Play Therapy\, please contact the Institute at info@synergeticplaytherapy.com.

SUMMARY:The Business of Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand – revised\, energized\, and with an in-person and virtual option\, join us November 11th-13th\, 2022 (in person or virtual!) for the next Business of Therapy course! Custom designed for therapists\, coaches\, helpers and healers like yourself\, who are deeply committed to making an impact and want to be of greater service – whether it’s one-on-one in private practice\, launching a product or program\, or running a company – Elevate and take your entrepreneurial dream to new heights! \nAs Keith Cunningham\, world renowned business expert\, says\, “Nobody is born knowing how to be an entrepreneur”.  Like anything else\, it’s a skill. It’s also not a skill you learn one time. It takes practice\, ongoing learning\, evolving\, and professional (and personal) growth. A successful entrepreneur understands that building a business or launching a dream requires on-going learning as they move through cycles of incompetency to competency\, over and over again\, as each new skill is mastered… And that’s why this course exists! Lisa wants to be part of your “business mastery” journey.   \nThis course teaches you the steps involved in building a dream\, as well as helps you understand the why behind them so you can think like a business entrepreneur. Plus\, for 2.5 days\, Lisa Dion\, creator of Synergetic Play Therapy\, President of the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute and co-founder of the Synergetic Education Institute\, will give you the key ingredients she’s learned and discovered along her own entrepreneurial journey. \n\nCome in business attire and see yourself in a new way.\nLearn the roadmap for creating a successful business.\nTranscend old beliefs\, mindsets and paradigms.\nHave opportunities to do the work and leave with ideas ready to go.\nNetwork in community\, collaborate and leverage the support and expertise of others.\nCreate strategic partnerships and a mastermind accountability group that you can take with you to continue to support your journey.\nLearn how to use principles from interpersonal neurobiology to achieve a greater level of business mastery.\nAnd sometimes we think building a successful business means getting bigger\, expanding or growing\, but this course is about becoming more efficient so that you can use your time in other ways – not staying stuck in working for your business\, but instead having your business work for you! \n\n“Lisa’s ability to integrate and teach authenticity in entrepreneurship is uncanny and truly unique; you can’t walk away from the course without saying Wow!” -Amber Ratcliffe \nAnd this year’s event will be held at the Brown Palace Hotel & Spa\, Denver\, Colorado’s most famous and recognizable hotel. It’s superbly designed inside and out\, and its downtown location and luxurious accommodations have made it a favorite of celebrities and politicians since the late 1800s. Almost all of the United States presidents have stayed at least one night in the Brown Palace\, as have Elvis Presley and the Emperor of Japan. We chose this location for you as a symbol of your worth – because you’re worth it! And your dreams are worth it!!  Can’t attend in person? You can still join us virtually. \nThis course is for you\, if you: \n\nHave a business idea and don’t know where to start\nHave a successful business and want to take it to the next level\nHave launched a dream and can’t seem to get traction\nFeel overwhelmed by the many to-dos and responsibilities of your business\nFeel alone\, confused and filled with self doubt as you think about building and growing your dream\nKeep finding yourself in-debt and/or not able to grow your finances\nKeep finding that your fears and limiting beliefs are stopping your growth\nWant to become more efficient with the business you have (no matter the size of your business) so that your business is working for you\, not you having to keep working your business\n\nTo learn more\, CLICK HERE.
