You can also think of it as “quarterly planning” at a much deeper level\, one that’s going to keep your heart and soul engaged! \nThe truth for all of us is that building a dream and business takes time\, effort\, courage\, and massive consistency to keep the doubts and fears at bay. Here’s an incredible opportunity to help you keep making progress all year long and continue learning even more business skills throughout 2024.   \nSo don’t stop now! Let’s keep going\, together! \nThis is a private group for those that have taken The Business of Therapy. SUMMARY:2026-2027 Synergetic Play Therapy Certification Program (Level 2)
DESCRIPTION:Enrollment is officially OPEN for the 2026-2027 Synergetic Play Therapy Certification Program!\nWe’re so excited to invite you to join us on this powerful journey of transformation\, growth\, and connection. Last year\, we filled every single spot before the deadline — and we expect the same this year! So if you’ve been waiting for the moment to say yes to yourself\, your growth\, and the kids and families you serve… this is it. \nThis program isn’t just about becoming a better therapist — it’s about coming home to yourself. It’s about discovering your authenticity in and out of the playroom\, strengthening your nervous system\, deepening your presence\, and learning how to use the therapeutic relationship as a profound tool for healing. \nHere’s what one of our beautiful graduates had to say: \n“SPT is the best certification course I’ve ever taken! Working with children over the past 22 years\, I’ve never felt so in-sync with myself and being with my clients. I’m more confident and trusting of the process with the child and with the parent. I’m much more connected to myself and my body. I’m much more aware of what is going on in me\, in the room\, and with the child. I can more easily let go of the “shoulds” and just be with what is. I’m so happy and grateful that I’ve evolved and still will evolve further with SPT\, to be the human and therapist I truly am.”  — Barbara Favre\, Switzerland \nIf her words speak to something inside you\, we’d love for you to walk this path with us. \nOver the course of 10 months\, you’ll receive 85 hours of experiential and didactic learning\, plus 13 hours of individual and group consultation to help you integrate everything on a deeper level. \nYou’ll learn how to: \n\nAttune to yourself and your clients in a whole new way\nScaffold the development of a child’s interoceptive sense\nHold awareness of self and other (dual awareness) in order to become an attuned external regulator\nUnderstand the underlying drivers behind human behavior and identity formation\nRecognize and work with the ways trauma is stored in the body and mind to support shifts in a client’s narrative\nWork with implicit memory to repattern the somatic imprints and protective patterns of the autonomic nervous system\nExplore how the brain’s drive for internal balance (homeostasis) influences emotional states and responses\nUnderstand the Vagus Nerve and the role it plays in trauma integration and regulation\nAssess and work with a child’s emotional age\nUse sensory system information to support neurodivergent clients\nStay present with your own activation that naturally arises in sessions and repattern your own nervous system response\nDeepen your understanding of how to track a child’s progress on the SPT Therapeutic Stages\nUse sand\, art\, and the sensory system in both directive and non-directive ways\nTrack and facilitate small moments and significant empowerment experiences in a client’s therapeutic journey\nWork with non-verbal regressive states\, endings\, transitions\, and so much more…\n\nThis is just a small taste of what we explore. You’ll dive into the projective process\, physics and psychology\, caregiver collaboration\, and even directive work with teens\, families\, and adults using the SPT lens. \nWe’re here to support you in uncovering your brilliance and becoming the therapist — and human — you’re meant to be. 💫 Apply today to secure the early bird discount. The deadline is April 1st — but don’t wait. Seats are limited\, and they fill fast. \nFrom our hearts to yours\, we can’t wait to welcome you into this next cohort. \nLearn more about this program here.

SUMMARY:Working with Aggression and Intensity in the Playroom (1 Day Workshop)
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Playful Connections Sandtray Institute\, join Lisa for a one-day workshop: Working with Aggression and Intensity in the Playroom.  \nAlthough aggression and death are a common part of the play therapy process\, many therapists don’t have a clear understanding of what to do and how to facilitate the intensity when it enters the playroom during play. The result can lead to inadvertently promoting aggression and increasing low brain disorganization. It can also lead to the therapist feeling beat up\, exhausted\, and hyper-aroused themselves\, which can over time\, significantly impact their longevity in the field\, as well as their ability to stay attuned and present to a child in the playroom. \nThis workshop is designed to help play therapists understand aggression and death play from a neurobiological perspective and a Synergetic Play Therapy lens. With the help of neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology\, therapists will learn how to effectively work with this type of play in a way that supports nervous system regulation\, repatterning of the child’s autonomic activation patterns and decreases compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. \nHere’s what will be covered: 1.Identify strategies for maintaining regulation in the midst of intense play\, aggression and death in the playroom2.Identify at least 2 strategies for working with aggression in the playroom without experiencing your own nervous system shut down leading to vicarious trauma3. Explain the link between a child’s dysregulated states of their nervous system and their aggressive and traumatic play4. Examine the Synergetic Play Therapy concept of “The Set Up” in the playroom as a way to understand what the child is trying to communicate5. Demonstrate at least 2 strategies for setting boundaries without shaming or shutting down a child’s play6. Describe the importance of becoming the child’s external regulator for trauma integration Working with Aggression and Intensity in the Playroom \nGet all the details and register here.

SUMMARY:They Whispered\, So I Roared: The Art of Expanding Without Permission and Moving with Resilience (In-Person Keynote)
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa for the 8th Annual Sandtray Summit 2026 in Louisville\, Kentucky on April 25-26\, 2026. She will be keynoting with a 2-hour session on They Whispered\, So I Roared: The Art of Expanding Without Permission and Moving with Resilience. \nThere comes a moment when the quiet voice inside us grows louder than the world’s expectations — when we can no longer shrink to fit within the boundaries that once felt safe. They Whispered\, So I Roared is an exploration of what it means to expand beyond permission\, to rewrite the narratives that keep us small\, and to move through change with resilience and grace. \nWe live in a world that often rewards conformity\, obedience\, and silence. Paradigms — those invisible belief systems shaped by culture\, upbringing\, and fear — tell us who we should be and how we should move. They keep us contained\, comfortable\, and compliant. But every breakthrough\, every act of innovation and personal evolution\, begins with someone who dares to step outside the lines. \nIn this keynote\, we’ll explore how to recognize the paradigms that confine us — and how to transcend them without apology. Through reflection\, curiosity\, and courageous action\, we’ll uncover how to: \n\nReclaim your voice and stand in your truth\, even when the world expects your silence.\nTransform resistance into resilience\, using challenge as fuel for growth.\nExpand your boundaries by questioning assumptions and embracing discomfort as a gateway to possibility.\nMove with intention and authenticity\, crafting a life that reflects your deepest values rather than inherited beliefs.\n\nThis isn’t just about breaking free — it’s about breaking open: expanding into your full capacity for creativity\, innovation\, and fulfillment. \nBecause when we stop waiting for permission to evolve\, we become living examples of what’s possible. \nWhen we roar\, we remind others they can too. \nGet all the details here!

SUMMARY:Echoes of Wisdom: Las Vegas Play Therapy (In-Person Symposium)
DESCRIPTION:As therapists\, we are aware of the impact of the intergenerational transmission of unprocessed trauma. We feel this in our clients’ stories. We sense this in our own bodies. More and more attention needs to be given to this evolving area of study and practice\, but we can also hold these concepts in balance with another intergenerational patterns. Wisdom and strength are also gifts handed from generation to generation. How do we honor clients’ intergenerational pain without overlooking their resilience? How do we explore generational wisdom without minimizing people’s struggles? \nJoin us in Las Vegas May 14-17\, 2026 as we explore the Wisdom of our ancestors\, the Wisdom of our Mentors and Teachers\, the Wisdom in our bodies and the Wisdom of those who trust us with their healing as we move forward into our futures. Lisa Dion and Mili Shoemaker\, Certified Synergetic Play Therapists\, Supervisor\, and Teacher-in-Training\, will be featured speakers on Saturday\, May 16th.  \nGet all registration details and register here.

SUMMARY:International Conference Play is the Future 2026 (Italy)
DESCRIPTION:Join Lisa for the International Conference: Play is the Future in Chiavenna\, Italy\, July 2-4\, 2026. She will be presenting alongside several other amazing play therapists.  \nLisa will be presenting on The Inner World of the Therapist: A Synergetic Foundation for Play Therapy and Psychosocial Work. \nThis experiential workshop explores the inner world of the therapist as a foundational and practical element of effective play therapy and psychosocial work across diverse environments. Grounded in the principles of Synergetic Play Therapy\, the session invites participants to examine how a practitioner’s internal state—emotional awareness\, nervous system regulation\, and authenticity—directly influences their capacity to connect with others. This capacity for connection is presented as the essential gateway through which attunement and creative responsiveness emerge\, particularly in settings that extend beyond the traditional playroom\, including crisis response\, medical and healthcare contexts\, educational environments\, and work with families. Through guided reflection\, gentle experiential exercises\, and clinical examples drawn from real-world practice\, participants will gain insight into how cultivating internal awareness supports meaningful connection\, allowing attunement and creativity to naturally unfold within play-based and psychosocial interventions across settings. \nGet all the details here.
