SUMMARY:Six-Day Intensive Synergetic Play Therapy Training
DESCRIPTION:This 6-day Intensive meets March 3-5 and 10-12\, 2017. \n\nHappening several times throughout each year\, the six-day intensive is for Masters-level therapists\, teachers and clinicians who want to jump in and really experience the magic of Synergetic Play Therapy.  Previous experience working with children and families is required. \nPlease call 720-458-9597 to verify that a space is available and for registration details or go to playtherapycolorado.com for more information. \n2017 Dates:\n \n\nMarch 3-5 & 10-12\nJune 10-17\nJuly 7-12\nAugust 5-12\nSeptember 29-October 1 & October 6-8\nNovember 3-5 & 10-12\n\n\nPrerequisite Training\n\nParticipants should have completed or be enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in counseling\, social work or education.\nPrevious experience working with children and families is also required.\n\nTraining Objectives\n\nBe able to facilitate the broadening of a child’s emotional window of tolerance and self-regulation by utilizing mindfulness and self-awareness in the playroom.\nUnderstand how the therapist’s authenticity and attunement supports the attachment process in play therapy.\nUnderstand ways that a play therapist can model to the child ways to regulate himself in a play therapy session.\nUnderstand the neuroscience behind identifying a child’s state of dys-regulation and how the child uses play therapy to re-pattern his nervous system.\n\nTraining Methods\nThis Play Therapy Training Program is limited to four people to permit extensive skill practice with individualized coaching and feedback. Each participant will be paired with a child client\, with whom they will work every day during the training under direct supervision as part of a therapeutic observation team. \nParticipants will be required to:\n\nAttend all six days of the training–49 hours total\nComplete eight videotaped play therapy experiences with client\nReview all eight videotaped play therapy experiences with instructor\nObserve a minimum of 12 play therapy experiences with other intensive participants\nAttend all didactic and play therapy instruction sessions\nAttend and participate in daily group supervision\nCommunicate with the child client’s parents/guardians daily\nComplete all required paperwork- intake\, treatment plan\, case notes\, termination\, etc.\n\n\n“Wow! DESCRIPTION:This 9-month training that starts each September is designed for play therapists wanting to become Certified Synergetic Play Therapists™. \nPrerequisite Training\n\nAttendance at 6-Day Synergetic Play Therapy™ Intensive Training with post supervision; or\nInternship or Externship focused on Synergetic Play Therapy; or\nAttendance at 6-month Introduction to Synergetic Play Therapy Class with post supervision.\n\nDuring the Synergetic Play Therapy Certification Program\, participants will gain a greater understanding and knowing of the tenets of Synergetic Play Therapy™ and themselves\, along with an in-depth look at the neuroscience and research behind the model. SUMMARY:Introduction to Synergetic Play Therapy
DESCRIPTION:This is the sixth and final module in the series that started in October 2016. In this six-month live and webinar course\, therapists and child educators explore the basic components of Synergetic Play Therapy™. To personalize this training\, participants receive an additional 30 minutes of individual consultation each month. \nWhat makes this class unique: \n\nWe take cutting-edge research in interpersonal neural anatomy\, mindfulness\, attachment theory and brain development from researchers like Daniel Siegel\, Allan Schore\, Stephan Porges\, John Demartini and others\, and then translate these findings into practical ways of working with children and parents.\nAttachment is a buzz word in child development. However\, few theorists recognize and understand how the attachment process actually works and the importance of attaching to one’s self first and foremost. Synergetic Play Therapy™ is the first play therapy model that integrates this key element into the therapeutic process. As the cornerstone of all healing\, this class will give you insight into what attaching to one’s self means and how to facilitate yourself and your clients in the process of attaching to themselves.\nResearch shows that when we name our emotional state\, we decrease our fight/flight/freeze/fall asleep response and increase our ability to make decisions and connect with self and other. You will learn the importance of the therapist’s congruent emotional expression in the playroom and how this is a key element of helping re-pattern a child’s nervous system.\nAll client symptoms are the result of a dys-regulated nervous system.
