You will be introduced to Synergetic Play Therapy\, the first research-informed play therapy model to blend together neuroscience\, attachment/attunement\, therapist authenticity\, physics\, emotional congruence\, nervous system regulation\, and mindfulness. Through didactic and experiential teachings\, you will learn cutting­ edge research on interpersonal neurobiology\, mindfulness\, nervous system regulation and brain development as the research is translated into practical ways of working with children and parents. You will discover what it means to attach to one’s self as the cornerstone for all healing\, the importance of congruent emotional expression in the play room\, how to identify types of dysregulation in the playroom\, how to model regulating activities to the client\, how to talk to and involve parents\, and ultimately how to re-pattern a child’s nervous system through the play therapy process. Aggressive play will also be covered from the perspective of nervous system regulation\, attunement\, and mindfulness. Learn more about our next Intro to Synergetic Play Therapy and other available courses at our e-learning site. \n \n\n\n\nUnderstanding Dys-regulation in the Nervous System in SPT (Class 2 of 6)\nThis class you will get to begin the journey into the brain and nervous system states of dys-regulation.  You will begin to understand the child’s symptoms and behaviors from the lens of neuroscience.   You will also have the opportunity to explore these states through video watching and discussion\, as well as begin to see how the therapist begins the process of helping the child integrate these states.\nObjectives: \n\nUnderstand the link between nervous system states and the symptoms that show up in the playroom\nUnderstand the importance of regulation in the playroom\nUnderstand how the therapist can begin to model regulation to the child so that the child can begin to learn how to regulate.\n\nThe course: In this six-month online course\, therapists will explore the basic components of Synergetic Play Therapy™. This course takes cutting edge research in interpersonal neural anatomy\, mindfulness\, attachment theory\, and brain development and then translates these findings into practical ways of working with children and parents.
